app download fails

Hi Everyone:

Maybe someone has seen this before and can sort it out.  I have been trying to download the paid app, Google Talk for the Playbook.  I get to the purchase place, enter my PayPal info, as that is method chosen, or seems to be.  Then I am kicked back to the main screen for the app, and when I touch on purchase, nothing happens.  It just hangs there.  I can back out and go back to the world main page. The PB does not hang, but then until I do a reboot, that app won't even talk to me.  There must be a hitch.  Oh, and the computer asks me to reconnect the device.  Sees blackberry desktop no problem, syncs and backs up, but just this bug.

Ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

I just want to IM with family.  Other app suggestions to talk to Android devices running google talk and skype would be appreciated as well.
