blackberry bridge files

hey there, im new to the playbook but not to bb smartphones, i was informed when i bought the playbook id be able to sync my media (music, pictures, videos) via bridge. i downloaded bridge and bbm and messages work fine, but it wont let me access my media even with my sd card. any help? also, any way of getting on bb bridge browser without tether? thanks guys!
