I found there is a bit of play in the cable connection to the Playbook and to the Phone. This is normal. But, it should not lose connection.
I had one instance where the connection was lose on one of my Blackberry phones. I tried another charger. It turned out the connector on the charger wore out from a lot of use. I bought a new charger, because the connector is not able to be serviced.
If you try another charger and the connection is still lose, then I would have the device serviced before it turns in to a bigger problem.
With any of these portible devices the connectors are tiny and delicate. Care in handling is important, or damge is easily done.
I like the large quick charger for the Playbook. It uses a magnetic connector with no pin petrusion. There is very little chance of having any damage unless the connector is strongly forced. I would have liked to see the phones done this way.
