Sorry to hear about the issue you are having updating. Does the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet have more than 20% battery life? Do you receive the 404 error when using both of the methods in the following KB article? "How to perform a Software Update on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet" KB26152
If so, could you please try updating from a different computer and let me know if you still have the same issue?
