Re: playbook os 2.0 release?

I agree waiting. RIM has been very slow to respond to the tablet market. Since the ipad had been released prior to the playbook, RIM should not have even considered the playbook competition without the same or similar features included in its release. Since the big changes in the company it will be interesting to see how they can pick up where they fell short.

Re: playbook os 2.0 release?

Just got off the phone with their tech support. His understanding was it may be February or it may be March. Hopefully it was just his opinion, but it didn't sound like that.

Re: playbook os 2.0 release?

I'm confused as to why there is such a fuss about how many apps there are.

I've had an iPad since they came out and have well over a hundred apps on it.

I got a playbook six weeks ago and loved it so much I've not touched my iPad ever since. And do you know what? There isn't ONE app on the iPad that I miss. Not one!!!

I've got everything I need on the Playbook (Evernote, Dropbox access, Word, Excel, BBC iPlayer, etc) and I've bought several games that run beautifully on my Playbook.

What is more I can just access the web sites on the Playbook for stuff I previously had to rely on half-baked apps on the iPad for. Why? Because the Playbook is capable of running the site whereas the iPad wasn't.

Why are so many people 'glass half empty'.

The truth is the initial Playbook is awesome if you have a Blackberry phone. For me it is streets ahead of having to deal with iTunes just to get a single music track on.

I want music on my Playbook - whoosh - it is there. I don't even need to plug the Playbook in as I just copy it via Wi-Fi. I want a film or a dozen films. Same thing. Just copy them from the folder straight to the Playbook. It is AMAZING!!!

There are so many good things about the Playbook that it cheeses me off when people just moan because of one aspect that they may not like. Nothing is perfect. Not the Playbook. Not the iPad. Not the Android. They all have pluses and minuses.

OS2 is just around the corner and that will bring even more good things to what is already a top class piece of kit.

Phew! I'm glad to get that off my chest :-)
