watching movies on PB

I'm new here and a novice so be kind pls Smiley Happy

I bought my children each a PlayBook. I'd like for them to be able to watch films on them when we go on holiday etc

After downloaded a film to my Q10 from BlackBerry World i've now discovered that there doesn't appear to be a way for me to put that film on to their playbooks or even on to my own. So, what options are available for watching films on the playbook?

Utube is no good as they won't have wifi access on holiday, plus I don't want my kids trawling utube unsupervised. So, it's gonna have to be downloaded on to the playbook some how, but how?

Please help oh knowledgeable ones!! Smiley Happy

Re: watching movies on PB

Purchase and download the movie from BlackBerry World on the Playbook...

They can share the movies as long as both Playbooks are on the same BBID.

There are other methods, some legal, for downloading movies, sites that have out of copyright movies.

@knottyrope might have some guidance on this.

Re: watching movies on PB

There doesn't seem to be movies on app world on the PB, just 'games' and 'apps'. On my q10 in app world I have games, app, moves and music?

Is that a question about the music and accessories store, you do or do not?

I don't know why you don't have a video store. Odd.

Re: watching movies on PB

Can you copy the video to a PC and then to PlayBook?

Re: watching movies on PB

The video that I purchased via my phone on app world won't play on anything else due to the licensing?! It says.

I don't much fancy watching a full film on a teeny screen lol

I just can figure out how your supposed to get films on to the playbook?! There must be a way, surely?!

Thanks for your support so far Smiley Happy

Re: watching movies on PB

The best way to get movies onto your PB is to transfer the movie from your desktop PC or laptop. With the PB drivers installed on your desktop the file folder structure of the PB will appear in Windows File Manager. Just drag and drop the movie file into the PB Videos folder. Getting movie files on your desktop is another issue.

My spouse has an IPAD and it is very difficult to transfer media from a desktop to an IPAD. I would like to chuck in the garbage.

One of the best movie players for the PB is the Kalemsoft Media Player.
