PAP pushes only work if client browses first.

[ Edited ]

anyone know why my PAP pushes only go thru if the blackberry user browses to a web site before each push? other wise in the MDS logs i get this error: "returned status code 3007".  I'm using the HTTP Push demo with the pap option. I have the same results in the simulator and with a real BES and blackberry.  I would rather not have to issue an http connection programaticly after each pap push.  For one, i don't know how long the http connection session or whatever, will stay active and i can't count on my push going thu for sure.  Whats strange is that the RIM push option works fine.  But i want to use PAP so it can retry for up to a specific time.

This isn't a RIM push versus PAP push issue, but an issue caused by using application level reliability in the PAP push and not doing so in the RIM push.  The following link explains this requirement and shows how the client side application can make the appropriate outbound connection to accommodate this.

How To - Use reliable push without making a BlackBerry Browser request
