Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

Has anyone figured out how to add your pin to your voicemail icon so you don't have to add it each time you call your voicemail? I have been able to do this on all previous Blackberry's. So it should still be possible

Re: Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

I don't think there is a way to do this. I'm pretty sure the carriers control voicemail options so if you can turn off the need for a PIN it will be through your carrier. Verizon requires it for me, but I've been able to turn off voicemail PIN on Sprint.

Re: Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

On TMO you can turn the need for a pin on or off. It used to be that if you put 'commas' after the number and then your pin it would work. The number of commas varies, you need enough for the connection to be established and then be ready for the prompt. Example voice mail phone number,,,,,,pin number. If I remember every comma is equal to a half second pause in time. Don't know if it'll still work but it costs nothing to try.

Re: Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

I just now tried it on my VZW Q10.  I even called Verizon support to see if they had a way to turn off the PIN requirement and authenticate by the fact that we are calling from our phone.

He Suggested creating a contact and putting in pauses, but that doesn't work.  When you press the N key, it shows as a "p" for pause, but the phone still waits for you to press "Dial" to send the rest of the number after the pause.

I've tried pressing the B key, which shows as "w" and the N key which shows as "p".  Neither one will actually continue automatically, the phone waits for you to press "dial" before continuing.

I think commas are pauses. You probably need 3-5 commas, but I'm just guessing.

Yes, commas are pauses, or they should be

Re: Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

Yes, the N key enters pauses.  BB10 will not continue automatically, you always have to press the green "dial" to dial the entries after the pause.

This Verizon issue has been discussed in a variety of forums with no solution.

Re: Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

Thank you all. I believe it used to be done just like calling a number and then adding an extension. Does the BB 10Q do this?

Re: Adding PIN when you set up voice mail

I'm running 10.2.0.1725 on my Q10 and can finally put my Voicemail PIN code in and use the built-in VoiceMail dialer on Verizon.

Not sure what version of 10.2.xxx fixes it, but the fix is coming.
