Auto on/off

I have been a blackberry user for many years and just got a Q10.  I have always been able to set an auto on/off feature on my blackberry to automatically turn it off at night and on during the day.  I can't seem to find out how to do this on the Q10.  Is it possible?  Does anyone know how to do it?

Re: Auto on/off

That is not a feature of BB10 at this time. Why do you want to turn it off? Just put it on the charger and put it into bedside mode.

Re: Auto on/off

I just like the convenience of having the phone turn on and off automatically at night so that I don't get calls.  It also seemed to save the battery life.  Too bad there is no such feature on the Q10.

Re: Auto on/off

there is a setting for bedside mode where you won't get calls or email notifications. There is an option for receiving phone calls or not . it's a great feature.

Re: Auto on/off

Too bad this can't be set to turn on and off automatically!  The less I have to remember about the BBQ, the better.  Cheers, and thanks for the helpful comments!

Re: Auto on/off

Plug device into charger at night. Pull down the shade icon that appears automatically on the top of the device when you plug into the charger. When you disconnect in the morning it comes out of bedside mode. It takes, literally, zero time. If you haven't checked out bedside mode, I urge you to take a look at it. It serves as a very dim clock at night, mutes everything on the device, and you wake up with a fully charged device.

Re: Auto on/off

I agree bedside mode works better than I had thought. Still prefer the auto on/off as it was automatic. With bedside I have to remember each night to enter bedside mode. Still believe auto on/off is a miss on BB's part the was not user tested. Ray

Re: Auto on/off

Ditto.  I don't want to have to remember to switch my phone off (or enter bedside mode) every night.  I thought the new operating system was meant to be an improvement, but I'm seriously unimpressed with how many basic convenience features have disappeared.

Re: Auto on/off

I have had 6 Blackberry's since its inception. My family and company also has Blackberry's, and we couldn't agree more that the auto on/off no longer available on the Q and Z models is a failure. Nothing worse than forgetting the "bedside mode" and being woken at 3:00 from emails coming in.

This seems like an easy update that Blackberry can resolve given the amount of "loyal" customers that miss it
