Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

Thanks for the tip JSanders. So far my battery hasn't died yet and it typically does by this time. If turning off my data services makes this much of a difference does this mean that once I do have data service that my battery will drain quick again?

Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

Typically with moderate use and data on quo should get 10-15 hours of battery use.

Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

I use a bold 9900 and I've adopted to following measures to get the most out of the battery which on moderate use lasts 18 hours (1250mah)

  1. Switch to 2G
  2. Dim backlight to 10%
  3. Turn off vibrate (notification alerts should be enough)
  4. Turn off GPS when not in use
  5. Turn off bluetooth when not in use
  6. Use wifi whenever available
  7. Turn off wifi when not in use
  8. Exit from apps after use (use menu key to completely close the app)
  9. Turn off the battery monitor feature
  10. Lower all notification/alert volumes to maximum 3 (this is adequate)… i've kept ring tone at 10 as when phone is in pocket I have trouble hearing phone ring.
  11. Delete unused apps (the social feeds app causes a memory leak it may also affect battery life) and deleting unused languages will boost your application memory space greatly.  the above steps will also keep application memory constant

Most of the above should be applicable to the Q10 as well to enable you to extend the battery life

Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

You must definitely have a bad battery - I picked up my Q10 a few weeks ago;  it literally goes all day;  from 7 am to 9 pm before it needs a charge.  Pretty amazing

Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

Mine came with apparently a bad battery. Took me a couple of days to figure out that it wouldn't charge beyoud about 80% and would drain down in about a hour.

(re short battery life)
Same here... WiFi and BT off, GLTE ON,

I'll try with 3G only and see if it helps.

@boldlygo - Very good advices... Definitively improves battery life.

But with all those features off, can you remind me why I purchased a Q10? Cauz now I'm really starting to wonder.

Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

I find my Q10 lasts all day easily and I often only charge it every other night. Everything turned on, but I am not a heavy user, mainly e-mails and a few phone calls with a occasional surfing and a few appsm

Re: Blackberry Q10 Battery %

Mine went from 100% to less than 45% from 7am to 10:30am

I'm on 10.1.0.2309

I love the phone but that's terrible.
