ESN for Verizon Q10

I am on the MTS network in Manitoba.

I bought a Q10 Verizon unlocked and it works well with 4g LTE, etc. on my network.

It does have CDMA capability in the phone, but for my provider to make it CDMA compatible, it needs to have an ESN number. Is there any way I can give this phone an ESN number?

Apparently Verizon's CDMA works through the SIM card. MTS requires an ESN number.

Thanks.

Hello,

Refer:

  • KB05026 How to locate the PIN, IMEI number, ESN, or MEID number on the BlackBerry smartphone

Note however that the VZW network does not use the SIM...indeed, as far as I am aware no CDMA networks use the SIM for use of the device on that home network (roaming is different, and may well require a SIM).

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

When I go into the settings there is a

PIN, IMEI, ICC ID - there is no ESN number listed.

I need that ESN number to be able to connect to my provider.

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

The Verizon BB10 devices (Z10, Q10) do use the microSIM card.

Look at the Settings > About > SIM CARD. Is the ID number stated there the ESN number?

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

No there is not - My provider (idiots) decided not to put ESN numbers on their Sim Cards.

They are total losers - which is why I am trying to find a way around it.

I am thinking I either need some type of SIM with an ESN I can tap into and use or somehow download a clean ESN number onto the phone.

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

Ok.

Do you have a SIM card IN the device?

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

Yes I do - A MTS Sim Card for 4g and LTE service. When I access the information on the SIM card it does not say anything about an ESN number. The problem with MTS is that they are solely focusing on 4g phones, while many of their towers work off CDMA.

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

Let me try this... again.

Look at the Settings > About > SIM CARD.

You will see an ID number there. Do you?

Is the ID number stated there the ESN number?

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

There is an ID number - long number, digits only - Can this be used as an ESN?

My Telephone Number

My Phone Number

No ESN number - My provider does not use ESN numbers on their SIM Cards.

(when I bought the phone I was hoping the phone physically had an ESN)

Re: ESN for Verizon Q10

IIRC, an ESN and IMEI are the same thing. One is for GSM devices and the other for CDMA. You cannot add or alter these numbers. They are hard coded into each device at the factory.
