Emails, Delete from Handheld only?

no option for this? i just had to restore a bunch that i deleted.

Hello,

There are many long threads on this and other things that are different from pre-BB10. That capability was provided by BIS, and BIS is not longer in play for BB10. At present, the device and the server mailboxes are intended to be replicas of each other (within the 30 day max rolling window)...anything you do on one will reflect to the other.

We are all hopeful that future OS updates will provide enhanced functions, including some that we all got used to under BIS. For now, it is what it is.

When will this update come only I receive 100 per day and I am losing half them on the server which is causing lost work.

This is so annoying!! There are some emails, I would prefer to delete on handheld but keep on the server, but with this option missing, I'm forced to keep all emails on my handheld.

 

So annoying!

Yes and also they don't really synch well...the ones deleted on the handheld are not deleted from the computer as it was with the Bold 990...

Vey annoying...have to do the clean up on both...

Yes, this option being removed is a big issue for me, too.

 

I'd like to post some other observations:

 

1. Upon sending certain emails from the device, they seem to disappear.

On the Q10, I've looked in HUB and the individual email addresses.

On the Q10, I've looked in the individual email addresses and their subfolders.

In webmail within respective email accounts, I've looked for the emails.

Gone. Each email gone.

No way to know whether actually sent by me or received by intended recipients.

I did not tap CANCEL instead of SEND.

 

2. From the Q10, I have sent test email to myself.

In the subject line of each, I labeled the email with a sequence number, origin email account and recipient email account.

Certain received emails have appeared BELOW the corresponding sent emails.

HUB and all email accounts are organized so that the most recently sent or received email is at the top.

This appears in HUB and within individual email accounts.

I have not noticed this previously.

 

3. On the Q10, certain emails sent from my email account to an email account belonging to someone other than me, appear to be frozen, neither sent nor failed to be sent.

Three concentric arcs appear beside the email.

This first occurred last night; that first such frozen email just this afternoon appeared with a red circle (horizontal white line within) beside it.

This afternoon, the same freezing has occurred within a different email account.

While frozen, I have found no way to STOP the send or RESEND the email.

When an email appears with the red circle beside it, I believe the email can be resent. (I have not yet attempted to resend the first formerly frozen email.)

 

For each observation and apparent issue:

A: Has anyone else had any similar experience?

B. Does anyone have a solution to share?

Yes I have had the same problem, emails to my self from my Q10 do not come through.

No I have used POP and IMAP, on both when I email myself it does not come through.

Also the latest software update 273 still has NOT solved the deleting of off server problem. WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO FIX THIS ISSUE????

Well, which is it, please? I know some IMAP email servers have built in filters that email from the same account TO the same account is not sent as an email.
