Error switching device from Q10 to Q10! Please help!

Hello,

 

I am trying to switch from one Q10 to another Q10 using BlackBerry Link on my Windows PC. However, every time I try to do so I always come up with an error during the data transfer to the new Q10. The message I receive is that the data transfer could not be completed because the BB is not connected to my PC, which is not correct since the BB is always connected via USB. I have even tried to back up my old Q10 using Link and then connecting the new Q10 using USB and restoring the backup onto it, however even in this case I receive the same error message. Both Q10s have the latest BB 10 OS installed in them. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hey asrahman,

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

Are you using the same BlackBerry ID on the old BlackBerry Q10 smartphone as you are using on the new BlackBerry Q10 smartphone? If no, sign in on the device using the same BlackBerry ID as the one the backup file was created from.
