Re: General Issues with BB10 - Q10

I'm having an issue with the button on the top that turns the phone on and off. I press it and the screen does not light up like it did before - it stays black, however, when I swipe up to unlock the phone, it works. The phone turns off itself and won't do it when I press the button ...  Does anyone else have this issue and is there a way to fix it? I, literally, have only had the phone for a week...

Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.

See if that works again.

ALSO:  You have your mobile phone number listed as your "My Mobile Provider" or carrier. Putting your phone number out on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise. To change that, at the top of this page click on My Settings > Personal Profile > Personal Information, and in the entry block for "Carrier" type the name of your mobile provider.

What part did not work? The device did not reboot?

The reboot worked but the button still does not turn the phone on.

From your BlackBerry World, download the BlackBerry Virtual Expert app (BBVE) and test that button, it's the first test in the button suite of tests.

Re: General Issues with BB10 - Q10

I ran the test and the only test that failed was the top button one. I stupidly took out my battery in an attempt to "fix it" and now I can't turn on my phone .. . splendid.

Re: General Issues with BB10 - Q10

Connect to the wall charger. Let it charge a few hours.

Then, stay connected to the charger, remove the battery, reinsert, and reboot.

Re: General Issues with BB10 - Q10

I decided to just take it back to my carrier and get them to fix it - it'll be a miserable 14 days but I'm done trying to figure it out.
