This has happened twice with my laptop. But I don't think it had anything to do with the BlackBerry Link. Well that's wolely my opinion. That might be due to roughly plugging out the headphones.
Some of the solutions I would suggest are:
Make sure you push down hard enough.You will hear a little click.
After several hard pushes(within limits) initially, it works.
If the problem still persists try vacuuming the headphone socket.
As a last resort try with another set of headphones.

Download from AppWorld the BlackBerry Virtual Expert app and diagnose the issue to determine if it is hardware related.
