Q10 Device Storage "Other Data" memory leak.

I've got a Q10.. I've security wiped the phone,
And I've done everything I could think of to fix this issue.

There is nothing on the phone after a security wipe..
And the Device Memory keeps going up until the phone is nothing but lag & won't operate anything at all.

Has anyone else experienced this issue & managed to fix it?
If so.. Please let me know how you fixed it.
I really haven't got time to send the phone back thru Bell & wait for them to repair it.

This Q10 might soon be going thru a wall.

Even after a restart/reboot..
It'll start at 4.4 GB's then raise quickly until it hits 15.7-15.9 then it notifies me to move or delete data,
When there's nothing on it at all.

First security wipe got interrupted & I had to connect with the net to do a full reload of the last OS update I got from Bell..
And the same thing keeps happening lol.
Only problem I've had since the release of the Q10..
Actually only problem I've ever had with BlackBerry lol..
Usually I never have any issues with any BlackBerry I've ever had.

Re: Q10 Device Storage "Other Data" memory leak.

Got it fixed I think..
Someone on CrackBerry said it could be the e-mails taking up that space..
Sure enough.. Deleted Hotmail & GMail & it seems to be fine.

E-mails worked fine before until the last OS update released by Bell.

Re: Q10 Device Storage "Other Data" memory leak.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue.

Internal memory full with same message to erase data.

I had to remove applications!

Do you really think by removing emails account it will solve the issue?

It's really strange and bad to have the memory full so quickly!

Does anybody know how to see the internal memory in order to identify the data which increases like this?

Thanks

Re: Q10 Device Storage "Other Data" memory leak.

Hi,

On my side, it was due to Parrot application.

When you record and save, the file is copied also in the internal memory but not deleted from the Temp, I suppose.

Now, I delete and install the application again time to time to purge the memory... :-(

If you check the memory usage with the build in Control Terminal / Memory, you will see each application size.

Hope it will help you.

Re: Q10 Device Storage "Other Data" memory leak.

Right now facing the exact problem as mentioned. Have tried everythink that other people have suggested but nothing seems to work. I think the latest OS update has a memory leak of some sort. Have had te q10 for a long time and has always worked nicely until now.

Re: Q10 Device Storage "Other Data" memory leak.

I deactivated my gmail account.Immediately the device storage came down from 15.7 GB to 6.4 GB but within two hrs again it touched 15.7 Hrs .I have not downloaded any thing There is nothing in file, picture and video folder.I have removed some applications, switched Off Location.

I do not know what to delete to restore the function of the set.Except Phone, nothing else is working .Even cannot delete old messages..System is occupying most part of the memory.
