Hello hmthepirate,

 

I am currently running OS 10.1.0.238 and i have the same problem with the notifications (SMS, whatsapp, facebook and twitter) emails are fine as well as BBM. Could you please advise?

The problem seems to come from the Facebook app. After uninstalling FB and pulling out the battery, I did not experience the notification problem anymore.

I confirm, after uninstalling facebook my text message are now notified correctly.

 

it might be a bad conversion from facebook android version which is able to manage facebook chat as text message.

 

I guess they filled their appworld catalogue a lttle bit too quickly...

There is yesterday a new version of Facebook for BB10 released in AppWorld.

If you've not been prompted to upgrade it, go to BlackBerryWorld and search Facebook. You should see a new version.

Hi there,

 

 

I just did the most recent blackberry update on my Q10 , and now wishing i didn't. On my bbm icon the red star in the top right corner of the icon won't go away! , all messages have been checked. and I pulled my battery to reboot and still its there. Can someone please let me know how to get rid of it?

Hi,

I had the same problem and I fixed it restarting BlackBerry Hub. To restart the hub, go there and swipe down 5 times from the top right corner to the bottom right corner.

I got a q10 a few days ago.  I am a longtime blackberry fan. I have had about 10 over recent years and refuse to move to another phone but the q10 is a huge disappointment.  The fact that people have had this notification problem for over a year with no fix is disgusting.  I just switched back to my old bold because a phone that doesnt notify me of calls or texts is completely useless to me.  Everyone makes fun of me for being a blackberry supporter and for the first time I am embarassed to be one.  A fix was needed along time ago. Shame on me for wasting hundreds of dollars on a useless phone that will now be turned off and go in a drawer.

MikaKelly, you're putting a thread which had not been updated since last November. As far I know the issue has been resolved.
What is the exact OS installed on your #Q10 at settings > about?

I am also experiencing notification problems.  I am running OS 10.2.1.3023.  I set up custom ring tones for several contacts (phone and texts), and they work for a while, but then for no apparent reason all of my ring tones revert back to default.  And my custom ring tone I assigned to all incoming calls through Notifications/Applications/Phone has never worked.

 

Another notification issue I have is that my phone will ring properly for a while, but then it does not ring.  I check the volume and notification settings and they are all where I want them to be, but the sound doesn't work.  So basically I can't trust my phone to ring, and have to watch the screen or have my bluetooth ear piece in all the time if I'm waiting for an important call.  I thought it might be related to the bluetooth, but even when I turn bluetooth off in the wireless settings it sometimes doesn't ring.
