Q10 transfer of data to new Q10

EE failed to tel me that I had to use the link to transfer data when my old Q10 failed!  I had backed up the old phone and have tried to restore the data onto the new Q10 they have supplied but it doesn't let me.  Apparently they don't give support on the phones even though your website to contact them first!

 

How do I get my data back onto the new phone - the old one is already back with EE so no opportunity to do the transfer routing now.

What happens, what erorr message?

No error message - the restore button is greyed out!

It restored fine onto the old phone when I had to go through a factory reset to see if it fixed the problem - but doesn't want to play on the new Q10

Are the devices on different BlackBerryID accounts?

Make sure Link is logged in to the same BBID as your Q10.

I think amandav gave up....

 

anyhow, I have the same problem: Q10 broke down, the provider picked it up and brought a new one. Now I have a backup of my old device, but Blackberry Link will not update my new phone with it - it permanently asks me to connect the old phone (which is crashed) to my computer....

 

By the way: The new phone is linked with the same BBID as the old one

 

Anyone around who knows what to do?

Connect the new device to the PC and open Link.

You should show in the left hand column that it is connected.

 

Click on Backup. Click on Restore.

The window should show your previous backups, click on the one you wish to restore.
