Skype security/permissions

Has anyone noticed the permissions required by Skype? What is this nonsense? BB why do you allow such garbage on your devices. Privacy is the main reason I use BB and not an android. Why does Skype need to access MY documents stored in the cloud - from all things? Location? Phone ID? Mandatory access to all my phone contacts? What is this?

I'm extremely disappointed. If your are plnning to allow such travesty, at least warn your users in advance re: permissions required, instead of wasting their time to download and install.

Re: Skype security/permissions

You're welcome to deny those permission if you prefer.

I suspect the address book link is needed.

Re: Skype security/permissions

Unfortunately that is not possible as all options are set and un-changeable.

Re: Skype security/permissions

Oh ok. Most apps give you a choice to allow or not. Those grey are required.
Settings > security > application permissions.
