Re: blackberry Q10

Good day

Welcome to BB forums

I think your having problems doing update from the blackberry link! But if your carrier hasn't release new OS update then that means when you went to update your device is the reason why it can be updated!

Follow these steps

How to perform a Software Update on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone

Software updates for BlackBerry 10 smartphones can be performed using the following methods:

Note: It is advisable to backup the smartphone data to a computer using the BlackBerry Link software before upgrading the BlackBerry 10 OS.

From the smartphone:

  1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top bezel.
  2. Tap Settings > Software Updates.
  3. Tap Check for Updates.
  4. If an update is available, tap Update to start the update process.
  5. When the software update has finished, a restart will be required.

From BlackBerry Link:

  1. Ensure the computer is connected to the Internet.
  2. Connect the smartphone to the computer using a USB cable.
  3. Launch BlackBerry Link.
  4. In the Settings view in the left pane, click Install Update.
  5. Click the next Install update prompt.

Important: Do not disconnect your device during the upgrade process.

For more information on updating the BlackBerry 10 smartphone, or to update the smartphone via the web, visit www.blackberry.com/update and look for the BlackBerry 10 OS heading.
