email account

I have deleted a gmail account with Google.

I then tried to delete the email account on my Q10.

It would seem i can no longer do so. The trash can page is inaccessible, instead I am told there is an account issue and I need to sign in to my gmail account.

How can i remover the email account?

Re: email account

which operating system version have you got loaded.

when you say the dustbin is missing did you go to:

settings > accounts > tap on the account you want to delete > bin.

Re: email account

Probably because the account is no longer actually connected to the device.

Try a reboot of the Q10, and then look again.

Re: email account

I did that, nothing changed.

What amazes me is that the option to delete it should remain regardless.

Who would think that the only way to manage email accounts would be to first delete from the BlackBerry, otherwise you are stuck with it.....

This is both annoying and time consuming.

Any other suggestions?

Re: email account

Yea, it should remain.

Try your Hub > Settings > Email accounts.

Tap and open your Gmail > and then I see the Delete button.

But since you can't login... sheez.

Well, does it matter that it remains for now?  Smiley Happy

Re: email account

Nothing works....

If I had deleted the account on the Q10 first and then on Google, it would be fine I am sure.

But because I did it the other way round (Deleted email account on Google and then tried to delete on the Q10) I am stuck.

I have been through all the help suggestions and asked the opinions of others with a Q10.

We are all baffled.

Can someone please tell me how to delete the account???

Re: email account

I am having the same problem.  I worked for a ompany as a contractor.  Installed the email account they set up for me on my Q10.  Since completing my contract, they have deleted my account.  I no longer have access to that account and cannot delete the account from my phone, because I need the account password to log in to the account to delete it.

How does this make sense???

Thanks for posting this original thread, I look forward to a solution, these notifications that my login information is needed are getting annoying.

Re: email account

You both will need to perform a security wipe on your device (Settings > Security > Security Wipe).

And DO NOT restore your settings.

Then, set up your Accounts fresh, as it a new device.

If you have contacts that need backing up and restoring, use a third party app installed such as PIM Backup or InTouch Contacts Backup, both in AppWorld.
