mixing up of Caller ID

I have recently purchased BB Q10 infact purchased it on same week it was launched in India. But unfortunately it does not perform well. Apart from other problems, one major problem is that after about 20-30 entries in the call log the phone starts mixing up the caller Ids, it starts showing random names form my contact list for the un known numbers, then if i clear the call logs it works normally again.

 

Please provide a permanent solution for this. I beleive this is one of the most basic operations in a mobile phone.

 

NEEDS BB's IMMEDIATE ATTENTION

Here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • KB34772 Call logs and SMS messages display the incorrect contact details on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone

I know that it contains nothing useful -- except of course for formal acknowledgement by BlackBerry that the problem exists. All of your fellow users on this user-to-user community hope that a future OS update will cure it.

I've experienced the phantom linking of contacts causing this. Like the KB article says, they're aware of it at BlackBerry and are working on it. You can go into your Address Book and look at the contact that was displayed in error on your call log. Click on the chainlink icon at the bottom of the screen to see if that contact has been linked to another. If so, you will also see buttons to un-link them.
