Hi, my Q10 gets extremely hot at times. This usually happens when using data and streaming video or downloading larger files. But I have also noticed that sometimes it will just be in my pocket and heats up. Now i understand that that could be because it’s looking for a signal but the heating up while using data puzzles me. No other smart phone I had got this hot. Keep in mind in not talking warm It gets HOT. Why does this happen, is that function that process intensive that the phone heats up the point that I can’t hold it.
On wifi it does hot heat up that much. I’m on 10.2. Are other experiencing this?

I've had my Q since the day they were available and I have experienced the "relatively warm" at times issue. I think it is the radio and battery working when you are receiving large amounts of data. As you stated when out of range it can also be the radio trying to work to establish a connection. There is a lot of stuff packed into a small package and the heat has to go somewhere. At first I had one of those skin type cases and the heating was worse, since I switched to the leather pouch it doesn't seem as bad. That tells me that the first case was keeping the heat from disapating. Cool weather is coming, your Q will make a good hand warmer. Seriously it's never created a problem and the Q functins perfectly.

Disabling LTE and limiting the phone to HSPA greatly helps with heat and battery life for me.
I guess you did not hear about androids...

Interestingly I've never had a battery life issue, even when there are times of heating the worst I've gotten is down to half battery left and everything is turned on, Bluetooth, WiFi LTE. I have it linked to my PB and use it in meetings which in effect is using the Q battery and radios and battery life is still good.
