Blackberry Q5 no 4G LTE network selection visible

Hi all,

I discovered an issue with detecting LTE 4G network in Blackberry q5. I checked the SIM and phone - both supports the 4G network. Then I checked Settings->Network and connections -> Mobile Network -> Network Mode.

According to the manual, there should be option to select 4G, 3G, 2G, but I only could see 2G, 3G, and 2G & 3G

I was checking with the provider, and he confirmed that 4G should be visible. I did not know what to do, so I checked the firmware I was using. This was the version 10.1.0.4181

So I checked the Notifications in Blackberry Hub and found pending release 10.2.1.2977.

I have downloaded the newest package, installed, and restart the phone.

After the restart, 4G network category appeared in the menu.

4G is great!!

hope this helps,

Robert

I've got a Q5 and the same software release: 10.2.1.2977 . 4G is no longer visible, even after restarting the device.

You would see 4G option under networks and connections. But your area doesn't have 4G coverage..

Not working. My area has got 4G coverage. This is obviously a common issue for many Q5 users. 4G has literally disappeared and is no longer supported in my Q5 device.

Re: Blackberry Q5 no 4G LTE network selection visible

Hi Team,

I am using Blackberry Q5 and running OS 10.3.1.1779

Recently switched to Airtel 4g but cannot find an option for 4G in Networks and Connections.

Formatted my phone and using latest OS. My area also has 4g Connectivity.

Please tell me what can I do to sole it.

thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

First, check your specific sub-model as well as actual OS level (not Software Release please):

  • Article ID: KB23393 How to find the model number and OS version on a BlackBerry smartphone

Next, check the frequency compatibility that your specific sub-model supports:

Lastly, check what frequencies and technologies your carrier uses, and if your specific device sub-model is not compatible, then you are done...you can't change what the device can do. If it's not built as compatible with the carrier you are trying to operate on, then there is nothing to be done.

Good luck!

Hi @jayasriniva

The SQR100-3 does not support 4G networks. Thanks!
