URGENT HELP REQUIRED

I dropped my phone and the screen has shattered - I am about to have a new phone delivered but I want to remove all the photos and emails off my current one.  The screen is usable in some areas but I cant find out how to just delete all the pictures but I dont want to delete them from Link.

How do I do this?

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED

Your best bet would be LINK.

But, you can try to go to settings and attempt a Security Wipe from "Security and Permissions"

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED

thank you - what does Security Wipe do - I am very worried that I am going to remove stuff from my phone and it will automatically remove it from Link and then I have lost it all

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED

You'd be best off to WAIT.

Use the broken screen device to make a backup of its data, first. Then you can restore that data to the new device.

OR, when you get the new device, you can use the Switch Device function in Link to move the data from the old to the new.

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED

Thank you all for your help.

I did a back up from my old phone and then a security wipe, new phone has just arrived (I had to swap it for the old one, hence the panic) so now I will upload everything back onto it...hopefully....

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED

Good luck. Using BlackBerry Link you can restore the old backup to the new device UNLESS the new device has a lower OS release installed to it.

Let us know.

Re: URGENT HELP REQUIRED

ALSO:

You have your mobile phone number listed as your "My Mobile Provider" or carrier. Putting your phone number out on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise. To change that, at the top of this page click on My Settings > Personal Profile > Personal Information, and in the entry block for "Carrier" type the name of your mobile provider.
