all calls will go to voicemail.

All exterior calls will go directly to voice mail although the phone is active. This is driving me crazy. All text are fine, al, other functions are fine but I cannot use this phone as a f*****g phone. I am canadian living in UK. Got this Q5 just to help BB.... After 5 months I can tell the Q5 IS GARBAGE. Too complicated for what it should do. Plain garbage. I need to fix this issue. All my friends, business calls go directly to voice mail. BB Guys I am dissapointed big time. I would tell more, ugly words ...

Re: all calls will go to voicemail.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Within the Settings inside of the Phone App, please check what you have configured for "Call Forwarding", especially "Forward All Calls".

I do hope you can find peace with this device...we volunteers on this site are perfectly willing to help out other kind souls as best we can. Being human however, it can be difficult for us to be motivated to help when vitriol is the only input we receive. But do also recognize that there is no perfect device in our world...the reason there is tremendous variety of devices is because there is tremendous variety of human need, desire, and tolerance level...if this device does not meet those for you, then indeed it may not be the right device for you.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: all calls will go to voicemail.

Hello,

The next thing to check is your mobile service provider...they control, on their network, the time length that calls "ring" before reverting back to their voice mail system. Perhaps they have a problem with that?

Good luck!

OK...then first try a simple reboot. Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

  • Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works. If your particular BB10 model has no removable battery, then instead hold down the up/down volume keys until your BB shuts off, wait 5 minutes, then start it up normally.

See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Failing that would be more drastic measures -- WIPE, OS reload, OS update, etc.

Good luck!
