$10,000 app guarantee?

Does anyone know where I can find the Terms and Conditions for this offer?

http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-17926037

i'm interested in the small print because I have numerous apps I want to port over to blackberry 10. Due to the nature of them, I have 12 versions of an app for different languages. This isn't a simple localised version of the same app but rather essectial to how I want to be selling/marketting my product. Anyway, I'm curious as to whether this would qualify for the offer.

Thanks in advance.

Re: $10,000 app guarantee?

I dont think anything has been released yet. All that is know, is that the app has to earn at least $1K and be "certified" as a "good" app which might mean like playing nice with BB social network, Facebook, interoperate with other apps, etc.

I wish someone from RIM would clarfiy. The key question I have is how many apps can you submit to the certifcation program. I've read from some sources it's per app.

Don't trust any "sources" about this. They have said *nothing* about that, so anything you read is pure speculation.

Nobody should be writing articles about this yet since all they've said is that there will be a guarantee and it will require some sort of certification. Beyond that, people are just guessing.

The only official mention of this is form Alex Saunders keynote.

He does state that 'each' qualifying app.

Re: $10,000 app guarantee?

That may well be true, but don't take each word said on-stage in the excitement of the moment as being literally true and unchangeable.

A day or two later when queried directly about it Alec said this actually hadn't been decided yet, and made it clear they really had not had time yet to formulate the whole concept.

Best to assume (since it's effectively true) that we know nothing other than that there will be such a guarantee (and, really, you might as well not even *count* on that, though I do believe they'll follow through with it).

lol it wasnt said in the 'heat' of the moment. Everything said on stage (questions and answers with guests) are all scripted. I know because I sat infront of the teleprompter and i occassionally looked back Smiley Tongue

Re: $10,000 app guarantee?

Then you could presumably post the exact words which you saw on the teleprompter at the moment Alec said them, right?

I mean come on, surely you're not saying that nobody ever misspoke even with a teleprompter in front of them. Or that incorrect words were never put on a teleprompter?

Re: $10,000 app guarantee?

im sure he couldve said things that were not word for word on the teleprompter but i dont think he would have said something radically different than what he was allowed/supposing to say Smiley Wink.RIM did say they've spent 100 million already in promoting/recuriting developers. whats 10 k to 100 mill? thats nothing!

Re: $10,000 app guarantee?

I really have no idea of course. My point is that nobody should take what was said on-stage word-for-word as any sort of gospel, teleprompter or not. Remember "ready in 60 days"? ;-)

And even if they said "per app" and actually meant it, there's absolutely nothing that would stop them from changing their minds if they decided after sober second thought that that would be too risky or in some other way a bad idea.
