Appworld development collaboration request

[ Edited ]

Dear Blackberry developers.

I would like to offer a collaboration proposal to any Blackberry developer on this forum, that has a Blackberry Vendor Account.

As you know a vendor account costs $200 to set up, which is a deterrent for any small scale development on the blackberry platform. So, if you're like me, and would like to launch a small product on the Blackberry AppWorld, but can't quite justify an ROI on a $200 up front spend, perhaps a group of small developers could join together, to share the fee, or at perhaps run under the brand of another organisation.

So, put bluntly, I would be willing to pay a share of the $200 Vendor set up fee, if another developer out there would share the setup fee cost with me. - or if you already have an account, I could pay to submit an application under your brand.

Hopefully someone out there feels like I do.

Wow... I hope you have your lawyer handy.  Just imagine the implications of what you are suggesting.

  1. You release an app under Joe Developer's "brand"
  2. The royalties would go directly into his account
  3. He would have to then pay you the royalties

This could be fine...or this could get ugly... Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, not a great idea what you're suggesting.

Maybe they can change it to $20/app in the future.

Pay as you go...

i am sure this is against the RIM vendor agreement.  its pretty lengthy.  you have to send them your proof of incorporation and drives license.
