Re: How to report spam from vendor?

I got a text, not BBM.

I got the text BEFORE I joined this forum.  I only joined because I'm looking for an answer on how to report and block this vendor.

Honor, where would the vendor have gotten your phone number from?

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

No clue, and I'm very cautious about who I give it to.

In any case, is there a way to block them?  I guess by virtue of this forum they'll get reported but I still want to block them from texting me on my phone.

I'm only seeing an e-mail address for them (playviet@gmail.com), not a phone number.

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

err, on your device you can install a blocking app, check appworld.

Mr. Number Call Blocker is good, I think it also blocks phone SMS messages.

But yours came from an email to your SMS messages?

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

@Honor - Roll over the email address and you should see their PIN, which is the same advertised in their message.

You can use the BB firewall to block PINs, but then you would only be able to receive messages from people in your address book. I wished there was a way to report spam and block spammer straight from the email app.

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

I asked, and Honor was pretty specific that it was not a PIN message, but an SMS text message.

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

Where is the BB firewall?

I just recv'd an email with BBM codes i.e. 20D738EE

It shows up on my gmail account to my Torch 9810 but not to my gmail account. (and it is not in my SPAM folder on the web borowser gmail either)  Will BB Firewall block these kinds of email spam?

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

It's a P2P message via PIN. The fact that the email address is shown is just confusing things Smiley Very Happy, but you can still report it to Google.

For the firewall, go to options and type firewall, the icon will show up. Click on it and enable.

Re: How to report spam from vendor?

Be careful with the Firewall. Once you enable it, half of your third-party apps will stop working. Firewall prevents making internal connection (e.g. file reading) and external connection (e.g. internet) from the same app. Just saying Smiley Wink
