I'm trying to work out the pricing mechanism for our Blackberry application. Our application is a document management system, basically we will be charging for using our repository to store documents. The Payment SDK documentation talks about charging for "digital goods". I could use the subscription component of the SDK for renewing access to the repository, but how should initial purchase work?? For an initial purchase through App World, should the application be downloaded for free, and once the application is started the user is then prompted to pay for a subscription?? Or can we use the same SKU ID for the "digital goods" as for the initial application purchase itself?
Maybe this should be really obvious and I'm missing something, I just want to know the best mechanism for charging ongoing monthly use of our application.
