Substitute for JAD

Since App World does not accept JAD files -- we are only supposed to upload COD files -- how do we make settings that would otherwise be done in a JAD file? For example, there are the properties that control whether the app runs in compatibility mode on a Storm.

Re: Substitute for JAD

Great question.

Unfortunately, this is not possible today.  There is no mechanism in App World to allow you to specify these custom properties such that they would go down to the device.  We are investigating this as a possible feature enhancement since it could ultimately use the same installation mechanism that the JAD files use.

In the meantime, we suggest using a server based mechanism for your application such that it contacts a well known server for configuration details and information.
