Re: What to do if your Package ID has been rejected by BlackBerry App World

Hi

I have an android port application, and I am trying to update a new version on the app world.

I get this Error

"File bundle (myapp.bar) has been rejected. Package ID is required for all .bar file. If this is an upgrade, Package ID must match Package ID in original file bundle."

After doing some more research I see in the manifest file that my "Package-Author-Id:" changed. as well my "Package-Id:" changed

1. I am using the same signing keys,
2. I look at the debug token and I see the original "Author id:"
3. The app name did not change.

The only thing that changed was I updated the Blackberry eclipse plug-in, from version 1.4 to 1.6
And after I did that I was unable to build a bar file I get errors

So I made a 2nd fresh install of eclipse and now I can sign in the 2nd version but the "Package-Author-Id:" is different now.

I still have the original version of eclipse intact, but there I cant even generate a BAR file.

How do I resolve this issue

Re: What to do if your Package ID has been rejected by BlackBerry App World

Hey bbexp,

The only way to perform an update is if you keep your package-id's the same. If you've change your package-id, your users will be able to download the new application, but it won't occur as an update and will show up as a separate application.

Have you modified your package-id, your Android signing certificate, or your BlackBerry signing certificate?

Re: What to do if your Package ID has been rejected by BlackBerry App World

Hi Justin,

I did not change the package id I have no idea how it is got changed.

if you see my message I stated

1. I am using the same signing keys,
2. I looked at the debug token and I see the original "Author id:"
3. The app name did not change.
4. I am making a bar from the source the so app was not signed with the android sdk. (on any of my app versions)

As i mentioned the only thing i did was update the Blackberry Plug-in and that when everything stooped working, so i installed a 2nd version of eclipse and on the 2nd versions the sdk works but the package id is different, and on the original version of eclipse i get this error

"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/qnx/tools/bbt/core/sdk/BlackBerryTabletSDKValidator"

Re: What to do if your Package ID has been rejected by BlackBerry App World

Hey bbexp,

Look inside the .bar file for the MANIFEST.MF file (inside META-INF). Compare the values of Package-Author-Id: for your new version against your old version and see what you get. It might be helpful to post the top section of the manifest here (Package-Author to Package-Author-Certificate-Hash).

Also, do you have a link to the old version in App World?

jjasmann, he already stated that he had compared those values and they are now different.

Is there a changelog for the plugin posted somewhere? I'd like to know if something has changed before I install any updates myself.
