Why do some people get different releases of my app on the same OS?

I've been going through my App World purchase reports for my application and have noticed something odd.

 

I have a version of my app (v2.0.1) that has a minimum OS requirement of 2.0. 

Another version of my app (v1.0.1) has a minimum OS requirement of 1.0.6.

 

The purchases report shows that some people on OS 2.0.1 have purchased app version 1.0.1, and others have purchased 2.0.1, months and months after 2.0.1 was released. How can this be the case???

 

There doesn't seem to be any pattern in the data - it's not limited to a specific country or locale. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, it happens sometimes to my BBOS apps. In that case I just "disable" the previous release using imposible combination of supported OS and supported device (like OS7.0 and 8700). Not sure if you can do this for a PlayBook though, maybe you can combine OS2.0 and Z10?
