Can someone please explain to me the difference between Third Party Apps and Add-on applications?

as far as I know there is no difference, except in the name

These are a couple of troubling statements for me that I found in a Blackberry Security Document.

 

By default, a BlackBerry® device classifies all third-party applications as work applications that can access work data.

 

By default, a BlackBerry® device classifies all add-on applications developed by Research In Motion® as work

applications that can access work data.

 

So does that mean that even applications downloaded on the personal side can access the corproate side?

no idea, I do not use BES, so I can not explain any of this
