Telus just released an update for the BB10 OS (10.2.1.2102).  After updating it seems like my issue is solved.

Thank you Peter. I'm with Virgin Mobile aka Bell and I got the update as well and it fixed my issue. Thank god I longer have to type my password and sync my emails every time I swap battery or when I reboot.
