Re: BB Z10 Heating Up and Drain Battery in 5 hours

Both a Security Wipe and Reset to Factory will delete apps.

You can download the apps again from AppWorld

Re: BB Z10 Heating Up and Drain Battery in 5 hours

My Z10 has been heating up to the point of almost burning my leg through my pocket and the battery was draining in about 4 hours.   Following the suggestion to look at the device monitor on the phone I noticed that over the last 48 hour setting (current, 24 and 48 hr) looking at all the apps on the phone BBM was 188% of the battery usage 83% of CPU usage and system was only 14% of battery and 14% of CPU usage and most of the other apps were 9% or less. When I opened BBM which I am not a heavy user of I noticed there was an circular icon called feeds that was highlighted (not sure was version of OS software this function appeared as part of)  When I touched it it opened opened a window "Channels"  once I did that the highligt on the feeds icon disappeared and the phone immediately cooled down. When I went back to the graphs in the device monitor app the battery usage and the CPU usage for the BBM application was close to Zero.  Too early to tell but this certainly has cooled down the temp on my Z10 and slowed down the battery consumption.  Not sure what the feeds icon is all about but certainly will keep an eye on it if my Z10 starts to heat up again.

Re: BB Z10 Heating Up and Drain Battery in 5 hours

The Feeds icon is updating you of any updates, posts, changes to your BBM contacts, Chats, pictures posted by contacts, new posts in Channels, etc.

Re: BB Z10 Heating Up and Drain Battery in 5 hours

Thanks for the feedback on the feeds icon

it is a feature that I would rarely use since I only have a few contacts in my BBM list

I guess though if one of the contacts updates their profile it will activate the feeds icon again and cause my Z10 to go into a loop until I acknowledge it  So far two hours after the feeds icon was canceled the battery use is only down to 90% and the device monitor shows minimal usage for the BBM app

Re: BB Z10 Heating Up and Drain Battery in 5 hours

No, it shouldn't go into some crazy loop... but odd things happen.

I've never seen it it on mine in over a year of use.
