BB Z10 Micro SD Card size limit

[ Edited ]

I keep reading reviews of the Z10 and repeatedly the reviewer claims the device has expandable memory by way of a SD slot that will accept a 32 G card. The specs listed on this site and the specs that I have heard from BB personal since the launch state 64 G. Am I missing something? I could probably find a dozen sites saying the same thing.

Re: BB Z10

When in doubt, go with the official source (this site).

Re: BB Z10

64GB Micro SD Cards are suppported.  However they come formatted as ExFAT which BB10 does not support.   They need to be formated first:

Re: BB Z10

so in the end, you can have a Z10 device with 16+64=80GB

but the extra 64 will be formatted in FAT32 (meaning you cannot create a file bigger than 4GB, especially with the HD camera).

Re: BB Z10

Is that a significant limitation? Do iOS and android support larger files?

which experts are you referring to? reviewers?

Most of the reviewers are just bloggers or self-called journalists that believe that the Timeshift feature is just taking 3 pictures in a row and choosing the best one, like 10 years ago.

Re: BB Z10 Micro SD Card size limit

Ex fat has to be licensed from Microsoft and not many have. Format it like above and it will work. A developer friend of mine already did this.

Re: BB Z10 Micro SD Card size limit

Which all begs the question:

What is the largest card a Z10 can use if FAT formatted? 64? 128? Larger?
