My problems seemed to clear up when i updated the software - am currently using software release 10.2.1.537 and all is well....

Yep, that will normally reset the on-device battery meter as well.

take ur battery out,cover it with polythene cover and put it in the freezer ,take it out after half an hour and insert in to the mobile,it just an calibration issue

hey my bb z10 also showing this problem..... it restart itself.... and when that tht tim i heard a small beep sound from phone with in two seconds it will shutting down after i heard d beep sound....  when i connect to d charger it will showing 0% charging nd in 10 mins phone restarts automatically nd showing red led  light... but the battery status was 100%

 

plslet me out of this problem.......... i dnt knw how to face this problem........

My question is that when thebattery has to be removed for 15 mins, shall the fone still be connected to the charger( i.e without battery).

I'd leave it disconnected and then when ready to put the battery back in, plug the charger back in first.

I updateed my z10 to os 10.3.1.2576 , after that i facing same problem

What is happening is that your on-device battery meter is off-sync with the actual battery charge.
Connect to your OEM wall outlet battery charger and while still connected and powered on, remove the battery for a minute and reinsert to reboot. After reboot leave to fully charge to 100%.
This will reset the false charge reading. You may need to do perform this procedure 2-3 times.
