"When we launched CrackBerry.com 10 years ago, we set out to make it a fun and useful destination where BlackBerry Smartphone owners could share their excitement and learn to unleash the full potential of their BlackBerry. A decade later, the CrackBerry community is as active and passionate as ever and I know our knowledgeable members and volunteers will be excited to welcome and assist more BlackBerry owners with their questions."

Try the following to stop the Spacebar from correcting the words.
Once learned, this setting is easy to change as required. If you are good at spelling and don't make many spelling errors when typing you can leave it turned off.

Thanks, but not an option--shutting off the suggestions would slow typing a message to an unaccpetable level. The real issue is that Blackberry has not made it easy to use unusual words and apparently the only two solutions are to shut off the feature or to (perhaps) develop special non-flicking flicking skills. It's a design flaw.

I wouldn't suggest 'dumbing down' the smartest keyboard yet to be found on a Smartphone.
All I would like you to try is to place your finger on the highlighted word suggestion below your desired term and slowly drag it above the line of the Space Bar.
You should then see that your term has already been entered.
This works perfectly for me, so I have to disagree that it is a design flaw.
