Battery dead on arrival?

I got my Z10 today, plugged in my Sim and when I insert the battery I see a red LED on top right corner for about 4 seconds, after another two seconds a red hollow battery icon with exlamation sign shows up for another 3 seconds and then all goes black and off.

The same happens when I plug in the charger, red LED for 5 seconds then off and nothing happens. It has been sitting on the charger for some hours now without any visible sign, nothing changed.

The battery should come precharged, is this right? And could this one be deeply discharged so that the charger will never start charging it?

Re: Battery dead on arrival?

Same picture: red LED for 3 to 4 seconds, (large centered) red battery icon with exclamation sign for another 3 seconds, then nothing ...

Will let it sit on charger over night and probably initiate a replacement on monday.

Unfortunately the external charger pack on crackberry store is out of stock, I guess this could also help.

Best regards

Re: Battery dead on arrival?

... Tried also for at least half an hour to plug / unplug the charging cable on the charger side once every 2 minutes to reinitiate a working charging process, did not help.

Re: Battery dead on arrival?

Did you ever get around to solving this issue? I'm having a similar issue on my Q10 and I can't seem to figure what's the matter. Is it the charger, the battery or the power source. It really is confusing.

Would appreciate if you'd share your experience.

Re: Battery dead on arrival?

Have you tried the above resolutions, especially that of keeping it connected to the charger while removing and reinsert in the battery?
