Black Berry 10 ; Text composing :enter key

While I am composing a textt message, I am unable to go to new line by pressing the enter key. I got to complete full/whole line then it will go to new line . In nut -shell I can not  compose following two line msg (because enter key does not work):

Hello

How are you

PS: In email composing, it works fine

Re: Black Berry 10 ; Text composing :enter key

Hello sube_s and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for your question about skipping a line when composing an SMS.

To answer your question, you would need to hit the space bar repeatedly to skip down a line as hitting the Enter key will send the message.

Thanks!

Re: Black Berry 10 ; Text composing :enter key

hmthepirate - dont think thats what sube_s was getting at.

in Blackberry of old you could set the enter button to move to the next line of text, then send from options.

repeated hitting the space bar 1) uses up characters unnecessarily 2) wont guarantee the next line appears as such depending on the receiving device

think the answer for now is "a software shortcoming" ??

Re: Black Berry 10 ; Text composing :enter key

It's shift + send. When you are in an SMS message press the shift key (it will highlight) and press the send button (it takes a leap of faith the first time).

After a bit of digging I found it here http://www.z10case.com/2013/05/how-to-start-new-line-in-bbmsms-message-on-z10.html

It works. I'm so pleased. It's pretty much the only thing that annoyed me about the phone.
