I'm a BB Z10 user and been using for the past 8 months in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Whenever I tried to sign in with my BlackBerry ID, it showed error as follow :
- Last attempt! If the bext attempt is incorrect, you will be unable to use your BB ID for 15 minutes.
- You can't sign in with a different BB ID on this device. Sign in with the original BB ID used on this device:
Anybody have the same experience?
The story how it was happened is like this :
Last time I was trying to download some application in BlackBerry World that required me to enter BB ID user name and password. I put the BB ID and password but it appeared message that said I put the wrong password.
So I tried a couple of times and still can't go through. Then I used the "Forget password?" option and put in the security answer which didn't work also. I was pretty sure that I put everything correct.
When I was doing this, I'm using the wifi signal connection to the Internet since the provider signal is very weak.
So I keep on trying to put the user name and password with anything that I coudl remember that could be my password and reach the last attempt. But got the same message, the same thing with the security answer.
So, I looked for my BB ID first email and removed the BB ID through that e-mail. Then I registered my BB ID again with the same user name and e-mail but can't put the same "Screen name" with the original one.
I can login through Internet browser to my new BB ID [even through BB browser application] but whenever I tried to login through Blackberry World or installed applications, it kept showed me the 2 messages above.
I have checked the registered BB ID in my Z10, it actually has the same BB ID e-mail and user name with the new created, only the screen name is difference.
I tried to remove batteries and restart the Z10 but still experienced the same thing.
I tried to backup the Z10 through Blackberry Link but couldn't since it need the BB ID to be logged in first. It would be troublesome if I wipe it without backing up first and will lost all the data and probably still could not log in to my BB ID.
Any idea how to solve this?
Thank guys in advance.

I went through your message and i am facing the exact same problem. Did you end up finding a solution to reback-up your mobile back then? or were you able to retrieve your blackberry id with the old screen-name?
i delted the bb id and i cant backup my mobile and i need to restore a new one, ofcourse not possible. Given that all old backups are no more valid after deleteding the bbid.
Thank you in advance,

Hi Blackberry Support, Can anybody help me with the same issue. I am badly fedup with this device i have called BBz10. Now i tried to reset the device and after getting reset it says that "Blackberry protect anti-theft feature is on. Please sign in with the id which was used to setup the device" & when i use that ID it says the same **bleep** thing, it showed error as follow :
Last attempt! If the bext attempt is incorrect, you will be unable to use your BB ID for 15 minutes.
You can't sign in with a different BB ID on this device. Sign in with the original BB ID used on this device. If i login on my PC with the same ID & password it works fine, however i cant do anything on this phone.
Please help me i made a huge mistake buying this old fashioned phone.
Blackberry User name : [removed]

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
First off, please see this "sticky" post, along with the threads to which it links, for helpful information to guide you as you proceed:
Hopefully, this information will be of use to you. We here are not your formal BB support. We here cannot call you to help you out. You should not reveal private information here on this public site.
Based on what you describe, the BBID that was associated to the device prior to whatever you did (sorry, I cannot interpret merely "reset"...details would help me to understand) is NOT the same one you are attempting to now use on the device. Only that BBID can be used to bypass the anti-theft functionality (which, btw, was mandated by government regulations). No other BBID can be used on this device until the following sequence happens:
Only that sequence can succeed. No other sequence can bypass the anti-theft function. If you cannot do that sequence, then only these instructions (which were provided by BB, and have been reported to be used successfully by many members here) can hope to succeed.
If you purchased your device from ShopBlackBerry, Amazon (US/UK) or the Porsche Design Store, please contact BlackBerry using the details found on our Contact Us page.

DO NOT POST THIS INFORMATION IN THESE FORUMS
-Your BlackBerry ID

You should follow the instructions I gave you above, which included statements that there is no other way. It also contains instructions as to how to seek out in-person support for the issue. What is above is all there is.
Did you purchase this device brand new? Or was it previously used? Regardless of how it was represented to you, it's clear that someone activated a BBID on it, and only that BBID can now be used until either the exact sequence I provided above is followed or the seller to you resolves the issue (as per the above instructions).
This is all part of the government mandated anti-theft functionality...if it were easy to circumvent, then it wouldn't be very good security.
