Re: Blackberry Z10 Issues that need to be worked out!

Being from outside the company is a good thing. Any ideas on how to transfer iMac calendars to the Z10? I still haven't figured it out.....S

Re: Blackberry Z10 Issues that need to be worked out!

hi,

there can be two issues that you are experiencing with your z10:

- outlook could be downloading all the mail when syncing,

- the incoming mail server is worng, if you are gmail...then make sure you using the correct pop or imap settings...

can you confirm what you have on your bb10?

I would not fear upgrading.

No, I don't have a link to download any upgrade, it's not done that way.

This requires you have a a Windows PC computer.

  1. Disconnect your BlackBerry10 device from the PC if it is connected.
  2. Remove the SIM card from your Z10.
  3. At your Settings > Location Settings, disable the Location Settings and save (or exit that screen).
  4. On the PC, turn off your BlackBerry Link and turn off the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
  5. Open your Internet Explorer (Firefox may also work) and navigate to www.BlackBerry.com/updates, Down the webpage , select the "Check for Updates" link.
  6. Connect via USB your BlackBerry10 device with which you're having problems.
  7. On the BlackBerry10 device , press and hold the top edge power button for 10 seconds until it is complete off, and then turn on by pressing the the power button again.
  8. You will see a prompt appear and the BlackBerry smartphone will appear in a dropdown list just after the LED turns red. You should see "USB: UNKNOWN or USB: BlackBerry (PIN)
  9. When you see that prompt, as soon as possible, click on the OK Button.
  10. After these previous steps have been completed, there will be displayed a message: "Checking for BlackBerry Device Software updates. The BlackBerry 10 smartphone will now power itself off after 120 seconds."
  11. After that period, the BlackBerry10's LED is supposed to be lit green.
  12. Wait until after you see the LED turn green. Then, there will appear a prompt to install BlackBerry Device Software.
  13. Follow the remaining prompts to complete the install of the operating system.

When the installation has completed the BlackBerry will commence the boot process.

IF your carrier is not carrying the z10 yet, or not pusing updates, this process should work for you.

It has not for some.

Re: Blackberry Z10 Issues that need to be worked out!

Hi J

Do you mean should or should NOT work for me?

My carrier does carry Z10 but they have not informed any updates plus I did not buy it from them.

It's not common here in my country for the carrier to be pushing for an upgrade. Usually we get it from the place where we bought the phone or from the distributor. But since the phone is new, none of them have any upgrades, or even know how to use it :s

What should I do if the phone crash after an upgrade? It scares me coz Noone here know or familiar abt Z10 yet... Smiley Sad. Yet I'm hoping the new upgrade will fix most bugs & even add some missing features and have some fixes including fixing the bad camera flash & battery!
