Blackberry Z10 has just died!

My Z10 phone just decided to die yesterday. I can't get it to switch on. The screen is completely blank. The only sign of life is that the red light comes on for a short period of time after I connect to my PC.

However, my PC does not pick up the phone - it's as if it is just not there. I desperately need access as my calendar is on this phone. Can anyone help, please?

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

Connect your Z10 to the OEM charger for several hours.

Then, leave it connected to the charger and remove the battery for about five minutes and reinsert the battery.

What happens?

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

Thanks for your reply. I have tried this but the screen is completely blank. If I push the on button the red light (top right hand corner) comes on and stays on for a short period. But, as before, there is no response from the phone.

kind regards

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

Keep it charging, and try it again... while still connected to the OEM charger.

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

It's been on charge all day. I can keep charging it but I don't think it's going to make much difference as I was trying that all day yesterday as well.

kind regards

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

It has for others I've helped... not all but many.

  • So, rather than a battery pull, the next time hold down the up and down volume key about 30 seconds. What happens?
  • Next time press the upper edge power button for 20-30 seconds... anything?
  • And next, press ALL three: Volume up and down, and the top edge power key about 20-30 seconds.. anything?
  • On each of these, do it while connected to the OEM wall outlet charger.

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

I did as you asked and holding down both volume keys nothing happened. No red light.

Holding down all three keys and the onbutton the right light came on, went off and quickly came on again. It remained on while I held down the keys and for a short time after.

However, with all of these nothing appeared on the screen.

Any more suggestions?

kind regards

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

OH, also, try removing the SIM card and Media card and do the same.

Re: Blackberry Z10 has just died!

Ok, I'll try that. Should I keep the battery in?
