Bluetooth is disabled by your administrator after update to OS 10.2.1.537

[ Edited ]

I just updated to the 10.2.1.537 software release yesterday and noticed today that I was not able to use my bluetooth headset.  I then noticed my bluetooth was disabled and when I tried to enable it, it shows on the screen 'Bluethooth is disabled by your administrator'.  What is this all about and how can I enable my bluetooth?  It was working before the upgrade.  This is my personal phone and not a corporate phone.  Please help.

Thanks.

Hello,

Did you try to delete the headset from the device? Try to delete it, reboot the device and then try to pair it again

It is not my bluetooth headset that was paired to my phone that's been disabled.  It is the Bluetooth service itself that has been disabled.  I'm not able to enable Bluetooth service.

I am trying to reload the software through BB Link but it keeps failing at 98% downloading software.  I tried it 4 times and they all failed at 98%.  I read somewhere on one of the forums reloading my help.

At this point, looks like you are not the only one reporting this downloading problem. There are a few posts in the last couple of days about the same issue. Not sure what the problem is.

Re: Bluetooth is disabled by your administrator after update to OS 10.2.1.537

Believe it or not - it's because of your Exchange (work) email account.  Delete that, reboot and blue tooth will be enabled again.

The phone is reporting to your work server that it has no password on it - see Crackberry forums for more info.

The only way to fix it is to have your IT people create a special account on their exchange server for you that requires no password on your phone.  Working for me.

Since the last OS update I can't connect via bluetooth to my car.

The connection to the SAP Module from Mercedes was never possible. With the BB 9700 ( a nice phone) was it any time possible. But with the **bleep** Z10 ....

If being on an exchange server is the root cause of my Bluetooth service being disabled, why was it working before the update?  I will enquire about it with they IT folks but it does not make sense at all why it was working fine before the update.

Re: Bluetooth is disabled by your administrator after update to OS 10.2.1.537

It's because the new version reports that there is no password on the phone - even though there is one.  See crackberry forums for more info - lots of people have the same problem.
