Business email and Z10

hey guys,

is it true that no more BIS with the Z10? does this mean that if i have a BIS data plan that I am using on my BB Bold, will not work on the Z10 and that i will be charged for the data transfers?

Re: Business email and Z10

BIS is not required on the z10.

You will still need a data plan from your mobile provider, and tell them you have the BlackBerry10 device in use.

Re: Business email and Z10

I did and I told, but let me understand this properly:

-other blackberry devices will receive emails through the BIS, which means that the data plan given by the ISP will be used only for internet browsing etc...

-Z10 will use this date package to download the emails, which means that the 10GB we get for "free" along with the BIS service will not be enough.

Am I correct?

Re: Business email and Z10

I don't know what your  BIS data plan on Du allows, that varies from mobile provider to mobile provider.

Are you afraid that 10gb per month is not enough data for you on the Z10?

Re: Business email and Z10

It allows 10gb a month, and with the quantity of emails I send and receive daily, I am afraid it won't be enough.

Re: Business email and Z10

Email takes up very little bandwidth. It is the video and music streaming and downloading of large files that consumes large amounts of data.

Simply watch your bandwidth usage the first month and see.

Re: Business email and Z10

Thanks, where do I monitor this in the device itself?

Re: Business email and Z10

I don't know where, or that you can. There could be a third party application in BlackBerryWorld.

Mind you, that you're wanting to monitor ONLY mobile network data, as you are not charged by your mobile network for data transferred over a WiFi network. The truest monitor will be from your mobile provider.

Re: Business email and Z10

Okay, thanks for the reply, I know what you mean about what data to monitor as I have it in my I phone. Will monitor for the first month and see, then compare between this month and previous one. I will share the results here later if you are interested to know.
Thanks again

Re: Business email and Z10

Sure I would be interested.

Let me predict... you'll likely have slightly over double the amount of mobile network data used over the past month.
