CANNOT OPEN TEXT MESSAGES

After downloading the latest software update last night I am unable to open the text messages I have sitting there.

 

Is this an issue or just my phone?

Can you provide a bit more information please so we can better assist?

  1. Are you able to open the SMS folder?
  2. What happens when you select any text messages that were in that folder before the software update? Do you receive any error messages?
  3. Are new text messages received since the update affected also?

my friend faced similar probem, but after sometime his device start working properly again

I have experienced the same issue.  I can open the Text (SMS) inbox separately from the Hub; I am still getting messages.  But, when I touch them they don't open and I can't reply nor can I compose a message.

I bought the Z10 one month ago and it was working fine till this afternoon. When I got a text message, I could see it in the hub, when pressed on the text message option, it simoly lists all the texts, but none could be opened. Even the previous ones where complete thread should be there is not opening. When pressed hard, it gives sie options, but none help to open the message. I have shut off and restarted the device few times, still no result.I just did the data wipe and my device is empty right now. Hoping that the text problem is resolved, but will confirm after few days of testing.

Problem fixed!!!

 

At advice from web, I connected my Z10 to the BB Desktop Link.  I clicked on the "Gear" (settings) and on the left side of the screen I clicked on re-installing the OS update  (it had a little red star next to it for some reason).  After the second update, everything works just as it should.

I really believe that after updating the software the phone benefits from being rebooted with the sim and memory card removed. (Some things can't be updated while programmes are being accessed and all that).
