Cannot access Native Calendar application

I've been working on an app that has calendar functionalities and when I created a task to recur, using <bb/pim/recurrence> api's it created the recurring task, it shows in my yahoo e-mail.  I am still able to create tasks via my application and they go through the calendar service and are still updated in my yahoo calendar.

 

But I can no longer open the native calendar, it does not show me any tasks, of any kind.  When I try to open the calendar i get a spinning blue circle in the middle, the tabs along the bottom can be selected but nothing changes. I have restarted several times, and also tried holding the power button through the process until i was prompted for my lock code but none of those things worked.

 

Any additional ideas on how to regain access to the Native Calendar application without needing to wipe my device?
