Connecting Z10 to PC/Laptop

Hi All,

I have noticed when I connect my Z10 to my PC/Laptop and open BlackBerry Link.  For mt Z10 Device to connect to BBL, I have to turn Mass Storage mode off on my Z10.  Is this comon with the new software or am I missing something,,  Cheers Smiley Happy

Hi craigashy,

That is correct, however, you will only need to use Mass Storage Mode to connect to devices or applications that require the Media Transfer Protocol, for example, some televisions, game consoles or computer media player applications.

Thanks.

Relatively to messages of Craigashy ant Cpt_sweatpants,

it appears that we need to turn off the mass storage function to link with computer.

I hope this will be corrected when Link won't be in Beta anymore.

I mean:

In OS 7, we had three levels of services:

  • media device,
  • USB storage,
  • only charge;

from the most fuctional to the less.

Now:

  • USB storage, or
  • charge only.

This would mean that we ideally have to select USB device for Link, what would be reasonable: synchronizing ones informations need at least to read on a storage medium.

I really hope they will correct this: I do not want to have to select "charge only" for synchronizing my informations.
