Contacts gone after last upgrade

Hello,

I know some have syncing issues with the contacts, but all of my contacts are gone and I am unable to add new contacts manually. Also, it does not read my Google contacts. What do I do now?

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

How were your contacts on the Z10 originally loaded?

Restart: Press and hold the upper edge power button about 20-30 seconds, ignore the 3-2-1 timer and hold until the screen goes black and you see the red LED.

Now, after 2-3 after the reboot, check your contacts icon again.

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

There were about 30 contacts. I have done the shut down, turn on several times. I also have done a battery pull and still get the same results.

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

Apologies for not answering the question. The contacts (other than gmail) were added manually.

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

So, if you attempt to enter a new contact manually, what happens?
Open your contacts icon and at the bottom left tap the menu icon > ALL, do you see your contacts now?

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

Apologies for not getting back sooner...personal business.

To answer: I have slected the "All" contacts and nothing shows. I tried several different conditions to manually enter a contact, but it does not save. It simply returns to the "Add" contact screen. If I close the app and re-open, nothing is saved.

What I did note is that when I tried to enter a couple of contacts in the gmail section, they showed on the PC Gmail but not in Z10 Contacts. Also, it seems to have some kind of memory because if I send email to a contact, it will auto-complete. But it still does not show the contacts on the device screen.

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

When you create a NEW contact... at the VERY top of that screen, you will see "SAVE TO: CONTACTS, SIM, ETC"

Tap that and tell me where you are saving your new contacts?

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

I have tried saving to "All," "Gmail," and "SIM". Afterwards, I click the individual categories and it shows the "Add" screen. For laughs, I click the First name to see if it entered; that didn't work so I did the same with the Last name - same results.

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

So again, when you create a new contact, where are you saving them?

As far as I know, "all" is not a choice.

Re: Contacts gone after last upgrade

As stated in previous reply, "Gmail" and "SIM". In my device, "Contacts" is only "Service Contacts".
